Why choose organic?
There are
actually a number of reasons for you to choose to
incorporate organic foods into your diet. Certain pesticides
and fertilizers in use today may actually be toxic to the
health of farm workers, and our rivers, lakes and streams
are becoming polluted by runoff containing these chemicals.
And if the chemicals aren’t good for farmers or for the
environment, they are not good for you and your family,
either.
But there are other reasons to make organic
product selections—and one of the best is, quite simply, the
taste. Because they are grown and allowed to ripen
naturally, fruits and vegetables have a delightfully fresh
taste, while meats are full of flavor. That’s why so many
quality restaurants now regularly incorporate organic foods
into the menus they serve their guests.

us? The next time you’re out shopping, purchase an apple,
peach or pear from a traditional grocery store. Then stop in
and buy one from us. One bite, and we think you’ll notice
the delicious difference.
What is organic?
To be certified organic, food must be
produced as cleanly and naturally as possible. For instance,
fruits and vegetables must be grown without the use of
irradiation, synthetic chemicals or materials that have been
genetically engineered. In addition, sewage sludge cannot be
used as a fertilizer. Meats and poultry may not have been
treated with hormones or antibiotics and must have been
given organic feed.
